About mrs. A
Hello and welcome to my classroom website! I am Mrs. Alvarado, and I am looking forward to having you in my class.
A LITTLE ABOUT ME:
I was born in Southern California, but when I was about three, my family moved to Milan, Italy where my dad coached a professional volleyball team for two years. When my family moved back to the United States, my parents decided to move to Fresno where they could both teach and coach. I grew up as a Clovis Unified student and graduated from Clovis West in 2005. I attended UC Riverside on a volleyball scholarship, and I graduated with my bachelor's degree in English in 2009. I completed my single subject teaching credential in 2010, and I spent my first five years teaching English and coaching volleyball at Selma High School. In 2015, I began teaching and coaching at Clovis North, and in that same year, I completed my master's degree in education with an emphasis in reading and language arts. I am now in the process of completing my administrative credential. I love to grow as a learner, and it is my passion to help young learners develop into critical readers, writers, listeners, and speakers!
I married my wonderful husband in July of 2012. We welcomed our daughter into our family in 2014 and our son in 2016. My hobbies include spending time with my family, going to the beach, reading, spending time outdoors, working in my garden, taking my kids to the zoo, watching movies, staying active, and traveling to new places. We weren't able to do many of these things during the pandemic, so we learned to treasure our memories and were grateful when we were able to get out and safely do the things we love again. One thing we know is that we are praying for everyone's health and safety during these historic times.
